Dr. Christoph Walke

Dr. Walke studierte Elektrotechnik mit Schwerpunkt Nachrichtentechnik an der RWTH Aachen (Abschluss als Dipl.-Ing. 1999 mit Auszeichnung). Im Anschluss promovierte er am Institut für Hochfrequenztechnik der RWTH Aachen über Funksysteme mit Vielfachzugriff im Raum-, Code- und Zeitbereich (Abschluss der Promotion zum Dr.-Ing. 2002 mit Auszeichnung). 

Seine im selben Jahr bei COHAUSZ & FLORACK begonnene Ausbildung im gewerblichen Rechtsschutz schloss er nach weiteren Ausbildungsabschnitten beim Landgericht Düsseldorf, beim Deutschen Patent- und Markenamt und beim Bundespatentgericht im Jahr 2006 als deutscher Patentanwalt und zugelassener Vertreter vor dem Amt der Europäischen Union für geistiges Eigentum (EUIPO) ab. Dr. Walke ist seit August 2006 bei COHAUSZ & FLORACK als Patentanwalt tätig und Partner seit 2009. 

Dr. Walke betreut nationale und internationale Unternehmen auf allen Gebieten des Gewerblichen Rechtsschutzes. Er verfügt über besondere Expertise in der Ausarbeitung und Verfolgung von Patentanmeldungen (national und international) und in Verfahren betreffend die Rechtsbeständigkeit erteilter Patente, überwiegend im Bereich technisch komplexer und standardrelevanter Erfindungen. Des Weiteren zählen die Vertretung in Patentverletzungsverfahren und die Tätigkeit als unabhängiger Gutachter für Patentpools zu seinen Schwerpunkten. Darüber hinaus verfügt Dr. Walke über besondere Erfahrung in der Unterstützung von Unternehmen bei der Expansion bestehender und der Akquisition neuer Geschäftsfelder durch Freedom-To-Operate-Recherchen und Due-Diligence-Prüfungen. 

Zu seinen technischen Schwerpunkten gehören die Nachrichtentechnik, Audio- und Videoverarbeitung, Datenverarbeitung und Software, Kryptographie sowie Medizintechnik. 

Dr. Walke spricht Deutsch und Englisch.
