En tant qu'avocat spécialisé en propriété intellectuelle au sein de COHAUSZ & FLORACK, Philipe Walter s’est forgé une large expertise dans les domaines de l’électrotechnique, des technologies de l’information et de la mécatronique. Il compte parmi ses clientes et clients un groupe énergétique actif au niveau international. Philipe Walter accompagne en outre des PME allemandes dans la gestion de leurs portefeuilles de titres de protection et ils les conseille lors des procédures en contrefaçon, d’opposition et en nullité. Il a ainsi déjà participé à de nombreuses « phone wars » et à des conflits judiciaires entre fournisseurs automobiles. Il en va de même pour les procédures d’opposition dans les domaines des énergies renouvelables, de la technique médicale et de la robotique. Il s’occupe également des questions de droit des brevets en rapport avec les pools de licences internationaux qui concernent les normes techniques (surtout les procédés de codage vidéo et le chargement sans fil).

Après des études en électrotechnique à la RWTH Aachen (l’Université technique de Rhénanie-Westphalie à Aix-la-Chapelle), il a entamé sa formation en droit de la propriété industrielle en 1999 auprès de COHAUSZ & FLORACK. Il est agréé en tant qu'avocat spécialisé en propriété intellectuelle allemand et mandataire auprès de l’Office européen des brevets depuis 2002. Il a en outre obtenu un master en « droit européen de la propriété intellectuelle ». Il a commencé à travailler au sein de COHAUSZ & FLORACK en 2003 en tant qu'avocat spécialisé en propriété intellectuelle et il est associé depuis 2007.
