Dr. Peter Drabo
Career
Dr. Peter Drabo studied chemistry at RWTH Aachen University, where he specialized in synthetic methods, bioactive compounds, and catalytic processes. Alongside his Master's degree, Peter Drabo received the additional qualification of Science Assistant, which attests to his several months of independent work in current fields of research. During his studies, he completed numerous internships and research placements, including at Lund University (Sweden) and the University of California, Santa Barbara (USA). During his time abroad, Peter Drabo participated in the Erasmus+ funding program. He also received a scholarship from the Aachen-California Network (ACalNet), an international exchange program between RWTH Aachen University and partner universities in California. Peter Drabo completed his doctorate in chemistry at the Institute of Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University. Here, he explored the synthesis and analysis of rare sugars and participated in a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) as a representative of RWTH Aachen University. In all phases of his education, he gained extensive experience working in interdisciplinary collaboration with companies and working groups from the field of catalysis, biomass utilization, and food technology. He has already presented the results of his research at numerous national and international congresses and in various trade journals.
Peter Drabo got to know the law firm COHAUSZ & FLORACK during an internship in 2018, during which time he became familiar with the basics of patent law. He joined the team as a patent attorney trainee in October 2022. His trainer is Dr. Arwed Burrichter.
