Dr. Maximilian Nöth
Career
Dr. Maximilian Nöth studied biochemistry at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. After graduating with a Master’s degree, he initially continued his academic career with a doctorate from the Chair of Biotechnology at RWTH Aachen University and at the DWI (Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials). Here, he focused on the immobilization of biocatalysts in responsive polymer networks and the development of novel, bio-based adhesion-promoting agents for surface functionalization. During his doctorate, he gained a great deal of experience in interdisciplinary collaboration with research institutes within and outside RWTH Aachen University and was involved in the preparation of numerous research proposals. As a doctoral student representative, he championed their interests in the university context and acted as a go-between for the doctoral students and the academic management of the Chair of Biotechnology. He published the results of his research in scientific journals.
After completing his doctorate, Dr. Maximilian Nöth took on the role of Coordinator for Technology Transfer and Innovation Management at RWTH Aachen University’s Chair of Biotechnology. In this capacity, he coordinated the transfer of technological knowledge with strong application potential from research to commercial practice. In addition, he took on the management of government-funded research projects, the academic supervision of doctoral students, and the management of the institute’s internal patent portfolio. In these roles, he established contacts in academia and industry as well as in start-ups and start-up funding.
Dr. Maximilian Nöth joined COHAUSZ & FLORACK’s Chemicals & Life Sciences team as a patent attorney trainee in July 2023. His training supervisor is Dr. Natalie Kirchhofer.
Dr. Maximilian Nöth speaks German and English and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
