As a physicist, Dr. Peter Reckenthäler is an expert particularly in general physics, LED and semiconductor technology, optics and laser technology and advises national and international companies on all matters relating to technical property rights in these fields. Dr. Reckenthäler also has extensive experience in the field of electrical engineering, in particular communications engineering. His work includes the preparation of validity and freedom-to-operate opinions and the drafting of patent applications. He also represents clients in patent grant, opposition and patent litigation proceedings.
While completing his degree in physics at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn, Peter Reckenthäler also spent a year in Spain as an Erasmus scholarship holder at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. His diploma thesis dealt with the investigation of "Ultrafast Absorption Processes in Lithium Niobate Crystals" with femtosecond lasers. As a scholarship holder of the International Max Planck Research School of Advanced Photon Science, he was particularly interested in the generation of electron pulses with femtosecond lasers. He completed his doctorate with the title "Electron Pulses Probing Plasma Dynamics and Aligned Molecules" in 2009. In the same year, he began his training as a patent attorney in a Munich law firm.
Since 2013 he has been admitted as a German patent attorney and since 2014 as a representative before the European Patent Office. He worked as a patent attorney for several years, first in his Munich training firm and later in two other Munich law firms, before joining the team of COHAUSZ & FLORACK in 2019.
