New IP Roadmap released

C&F takes a share in international guidelines for intellectual property

The 12th edition of the IP roadmap has just been issued. Published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the guideline offers information on the basics and current tendencies in the field of intellectual property (IP) and is a valuable directive for economic and political decision makers. The new roadmap was developed by experts from all around the world, amongst them Matthias Karlhuber from Cohausz & Florack (C&F), a patent attorney and attorney-at-law firm from Düsseldorf, who contributed to the publication with his expertise especially in the area of patents. ”Intellectual property is of rising importance in many economic branches, predominantly the creative and innovative sectors. In many cases it even represents a vital part of the company value. This has also been visualized by the big IP portfolios traditional companies have recently sold in a rather spectacular fashion. This makes it even more important to establish knowledge of the mechanisms of this economic factor on the management level as well as in politics”, Karlhuber says.

The new IP roadmap renders a profound entrance into this complex area possible. Apart from IP basics, it conveys far-reaching information on the respective property rights and its economic utilization. In the course of process, special features of foreign law systems will be dealt with. In order to do justice to an international target group, the IP roadmap will soon be translated into several languages.
