Cohausz & Florack welcomes two new patent attorneys

Svenja Schwandt and Dr. Lauren Schweizer bolster the firm in the fields of Physics and Chemistry, Pharma & Life Sciences

Düsseldorf, June X, 2021 – Cohausz & Florack (C&F) is getting a further personnel boost: Svenja Schwandt and Dr. Lauren Schweizer took up the positions of “Patentassessorinnen” (fully trained and qualified patent attorneys) on June 1, 2021. They will be sworn in as German patent attorneys shortly. They both completed their training at C&F. The firm is therefore continuing its tradition of offering its own trainees permanent roles in the legal team.

Svenja Schwandt gained theoretical and practical experience during her Master’s degree in medical physics, specializing in the fields of imaging techniques and radiotherapy. Alongside her studies, she worked at the Institute of Transplantation Diagnostics and Cell Therapeutics at the University Hospital in Düsseldorf. She is the author of several professional articles on the topic of stem cell therapy. Svenja Schwandt reinforces C&F’s Physics team with her profound expertise.

Dr. Lauren Schweizer studied neuroscience in her home country, the USA, and then did her PhD in Germany at the interface between clinical research, genetics, and neuroscience. With her in-depth knowledge and expertise, particularly in pharma opposition suits, she now rounds off the firm’s Chemistry, Pharma & Life Sciences team.

Dr. Natalie Kirchhofer, Michel Kaminsky, and Arnd Ziebell, all patent attorneys and partners at C&F, accompanied and mentored the new patent attorneys during their training: “We are delighted to have two more accomplished experts on board,” says Arnd Ziebell. “The fact that they – like most of our other trainees – are continuing their careers with us after their training shows us that we as a law firm are doing a lot of things right. We would like to give a warm welcome to Svenja Schwandt and Dr. Lauren Schweizer.”
