C&F presents inventions from North Rhine-Westphalia

Special exhibition for innovative products and technologies

Düsseldorf, 31. March 2015 – North Rhine-Westphalia is particularly innovation-happy: That is underlined in a special exhibition by the law firm Cohausz & Florack (C&F) at this year's Hannover Messe. From 13 to 17 April, inventions from the past decades, introduced by a total of 25 companies, will be on display – ranging from a shelf with antibacterial coating to a heated windshield or street lights that actually “think for themselves”. “We are very happy to be able to show visitors many ingenious products from a large variety of different fields of technology,” says C&F patent attorney Gottfried Schüll. “The exhibition truly reflects the abundance of inventions for which North Rhine-Westphalia has stood for decades”.

More than 12,700 brands and nearly 12,900 designs were filed in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2013 at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA). Add to that more than 7,000 patents. They normally concern inventions with which existing products or technologies have been developed further and made suitable for future use. Often they are the result of intensive work by several researchers of a company. “Their inventive achievements make a considerable contribution toward the fact that North Rhine-Westphalia remains an eco-nomically attractive Federal State of Germany”, explains Schüll. The special exhibition at the Hannover Messe aims to recognize this achievement and to awaken visitors’ enthusiasm for current technological advancements.
