Dr. Margarete Rittstieg is a specialist in general mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mining technology, packaging technology, and construction. As a patent attorney at COHAUSZ & FLORACK, she advises clients in all matters of intellectual property, in particular the professional establishment and expansion of their IP portfolios, opposition, nullity, and infringement proceedings, as well as all areas related to employee invention law.
After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering with a specialization in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University, Margarete Rittstieg completed her Master’s degree in aerospace engineering. In 2018, she earned her doctorate at the university’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. While completing her doctorate, she worked as a project manager and research assistant at the Chair for Production Systems of the Machine Tool Laboratory (WZL) at RWTH Aachen University. As part of this work, she managed consulting projects focusing on supply chain strategy, global footprint design, factory planning, and production logistics in manufacturing companies. She also worked in investor relations at e.GO Mobile AG (an electromobility start-up), where she gained extensive experience in due diligence audits, among other things. At DFA Demonstrationsfabrik Aachen GmbH, she worked in the field of further education and designed and carried out seminars on topics related to Industry 4.0.
Margarete Rittstieg completed her IP law training at COHAUSZ & FLORACK. She has been a patent attorney with the firm since January 2023 and strengthens the Mechanical Engineering team with her profound expertise.
