Mathias Karlhuber appointed ICC Patent Rapporteur

Düsseldorf, February 26, 2015 – Mathias Karlhuber, patent attorney and partner at Cohausz & Florack (C&F) has been appointed Patent Rapporteur at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) effective January 1, 2015. In the next three years he will use his expertise to inform the ICC’s Commission on Intellectual Property Rights (“IP Commission”) about developments in the patent system and initiate new working themes for the IP Commission. In addi-tion, he will represent the ICC at international forums and congresses.

The ICC, based in Paris, is an alliance of more than 7,000 global companies and associations, which advocates global trade and economic growth. The ICC’s IP Commission deals with all matters relating to intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, design and copyright), making it a mouthpiece for creative and innovative industries. With more than 300 representatives from business and industry, it is considered an important authority to influence decisions on a political and economic level, and to promote developments for the protection of intellectual property rights. The ICC’s IP Commission regularly provides to companies in-depth knowledge on the mechanisms of intellectual property rights, for example in the form of the IP Roadmap. The now 12th issue of the IP Roadmap was published in July 2014.
