Dr. Leon von Detten
Career
Dr. Leon von Detten completed a Master’s degree in physics at the University of Bonn. He subsequently earned his doctorate at the Institute for Advanced Simulation (IAS) and the Institute for Nuclear Physics (IKP) at Forschungszentrum Jülich, exploring the internal structure of exotic matter, i.e. particles (hadrons) whose properties do not align with model predictions. During his studies, he focused on data-driven research and mathematical modelling. After completing his PhD, Leon von Detten continued to work as a research assistant at Forschungszentrum Jülich, where he engaged in close dialog with scientists from all over the world. He regularly gave seminars on his research findings, lectured at international conferences, and authored numerous publications.
Recognition for Leon von Detten’s scientific achievements includes an award from the Helmholtz Institute for Radiation and Nuclear Physics.
He joined COHAUSZ & FLORACK as a patent attorney trainee in January 2026 and strengthens the firm’s “Physics” team with his in-depth expertise.
Dr. Leon von Detten speaks German and English.
