Dr. Daniella Cristina Munro Rueda
Career
Dr. Daniella Munro Rueda obtained her Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and genetics at the University of Cape Town in her home country of South Africa. As part of a research project in human genetics, she focused on questions relating to pharmacogenomics and drug metabolism.
She deepened her knowledge with a Master’s degree in pharmacology at the University of Oxford in England. After completing her Master’s degree, Daniella Munro Rueda spent two years working in a chromatin and genome integrity laboratory at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM) and the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics (WTCHG).
Daniella Munro Rueda completed her doctorate within the “International Max Planck Research School for Living Matter” graduate program, which is affiliated with the University of Duisburg-Essen. There, she continued her work in the field of DNA damage, investigating the role of the ubiquitin-proteasome system in the cell cycle. She has presented her doctoral research at several symposia and has published at various stages of her academic career.
Since March 2026, Dr. Daniella Munro Rueda has been a patent attorney trainee at COHAUSZ & FLORACK and has since strengthened the firm’s “Chemistry, Pharma, and Life Sciences” team with her extensive expertise.
