Effective and affordable: opposition proceedings

One way of taking action against restrictions imposed by a competitor is by bringing opposition proceedings. The advantages:

Opposition proceedings can be filed within the first nine months after publication of the mention of the grant of the patent.
They are much less expensive than revocation proceedings.
Opposition proceedings are the method of choice for a European patent in particular, as nullity proceedings do not have to be conducted in individual European countries.
