Düsseldorf, January 23, 2025 – Cohausz & Florack (C&F) announced further personnel success at the beginning of the year: on January 1, 2025, Felipe von Heereman was appointed full partner. Svenja Schwandt, Georg Tully, and Dr. Julia Konrad were promoted to associate partners.
Felipe von Heereman studied industrial engineering with a specialization in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University. After completing his training at C&F, he joined the firm as a patent attorney in April 2020. He has since supported clients – who primarily come from the fields of general mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, and electric mobility – in obtaining and defending IP rights and in monetizing large patent portfolios. He became an associate partner at the firm at the beginning of 2024.
Svenja Schwandt studied medical physics at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and worked at the Institute for Transplantation Diagnostics and Cell Therapeutics at the University Hospital in Düsseldorf alongside her studies. After completing her training at C&F, she joined the firm in 2021 as a patent attorney in the field of physics. She advises national and international companies – mainly from the semiconductor technology, renewable energy, medical technology, and metal processing sectors – on the strategic development of their IP portfolio and on securing and enforcing their IP rights.
Georg Tully studied mechanical engineering at Ruhr University Bochum, where he specialized in automotive drive technology. After completing his Master’s degree, he worked as a development engineer at a company in the Schaeffler Group in basic research and testing. In mid-2022, Georg Tully completed his training at C&F and joined the firm as a patent attorney. He advises clients primarily from the fields of mechanical engineering, physics, and process engineering on the acquisition, defense, and enforcement of IP rights.
Dr. Julia Konrad gained international research experience during her biochemistry studies at Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen. After graduating, she did her doctorate at the Institute of Molecular Life Sciences at the University of Zurich (Switzerland), for which she received a scholarship from the Boehringer Ingelheim Fund. She too completed her patent attorney training at C&F. After a three-month secondment at Haley Guiliano LLP, New York City (USA), she joined the firm in October 2022 as a patent attorney in the fields of (bio)chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences.
“In Felipe von Heereman, Svenja Schwandt, Georg Tully, and Dr. Julia Konrad, we have four strong personalities on board who have already brought a great deal of expertise and a breath of fresh air to our firm,” says Mathias Karlhuber, patent attorney and partner at C&F. “On behalf of the entire team, I wish them all the best for their future careers as partner and associate partners at Cohausz & Florack.”
