Detailed profile

Ralph Minderop studied pharmacy and obtained a Ph.D. in biochemistry in 1986 for his work on glucokinase gene regulation. Since 1990 he has acted on behalf of German and foreign clients as a patent attorney and professional representative before the European Patent Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). In 1995 he became a partner at COHAUSZ & FLORACK.

He represents his long-standing clients, most of whom are medium-sized enterprises, primarily in the fields of photobase paper and decorative paper, pharmaceuticals and drugs, therapeutic antibodies, proteins, production of chemicals, pitch products and building materials. He has acted in patent litigation and nullification proceedings involving Omeprazol, Esomeprazol, Taq DNA polymerase, vaccine production, cartilage protection products and unsaturated fatty acids. His fields of activity include drawing up expert validity opinions as well as extrajudicial counseling of clients in licensing matters and in conflicts with third parties in patent and trademark issues.
