Detailed profile

Dr. Arwed Burrichter studied chemistry in Bonn and Los Angeles. In 1997 he was awarded his Ph.D. under Nobel laureate George A. Olah at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in the area of hydrocarbon chemistry on “protolytic activation of onium ions”.

Arwed Burrichter was trained in intellectual property law and civil law at COHAUSZ & FLORACK, the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf and the patent authorities in Munich. He qualified as a German patent attorney in 2000 and as a European patent attorney in 2002. After completing his patent attorney training, he worked for several months in a New York law firm where he gained experience in US patent and trademark law.

Dr. Burrichter joined COHAUSZ & FLORACK in 2000. He represents German and international clients in all areas related to intellectual property rights. His work focuses on patents and licenses in the fields of chemistry & life sciences, pharmaceutical chemistry, polymer chemistry and biochemistry. He also specializes in the protection of designs and utility models and the management of trademark portfolios.

Dr. Burrichter speaks German, English and French.
