Since 1 January 2020, the EPO Boards of Appeal have new Rules of Procedure (RPBA) in force that make it much more difficult to get new documents, lines of attack or defense and claim requests admitted into the appeal proceedings. This has significant impact on the management of both first instance and appeal examination and opposition proceedings. Following our introductory webinar on 22 June 2020 (see recording here), this webinar will focus on our first experiences with the new Rules of Procedure in oral proceedings and our analysis of the first year of case law that has developed under the new Rules.
In this webinar we will discuss
- The most important changes in the new RPBA
- First experiences with the new RPBA in oral proceedings
- First case law from 2020 dealing with certain aspects of the new RPBA
- Best practices and implications for parties to EPO opposition and appeal proceedings
Why you should attend
Please join us for this informative webinar, which will not only refresh your memory of the most important changes to the RPBA, but also provide you with an overview of the first case law that has developed under the new RPBA. The webinar will point out practical implications for your own opposition and appeal cases, including immediate “To Do’s” and future strategic considerations.
